Loaded Software

At CPR we don't believe in loading loads of software onto a new laptop (AKA Bloatware). Instead, other than the operating system and brand-related apps required, no other programs or applications are installed. Office 365 Trial is a link to a clean download directly from Microsoft and can be installed if required.

Battery Condition

Battery life can vary depending on how the laptop is used. A laptop will always use more power playing a DVD or running a game than it does just surfing the internet or answering emails. To this end, it is impossible to be exact on battery condition and life. However, to help, we test and grade batteries for laptops by real-life use in that once fully refurbished, all laptops are specification checked (which involves running software on the machine for about 20 minutes. They are then checked for online speed for approximately 5 minutes. Finally, browsing history and testing files are removed utilizing other software. At this point, the battery percentage is checked and noted above with our opinion of the battery. On top of this, we use software (batteryinfoview) to verify this information and gain the percentage health. Hopefully, this will give you a good guide to the condition. Should you then wish to purchase a new battery, in most cases these are very cheap so this can be done for extra life.

Before we dispatch any Laptop:

Safety and security are important to us so before any computer is dispatched we will have completely cleansed all sectors of the hard drive including previous boot sectors thus eliminating any previously installed software. Following this, every computer is scanned at a deep level for all known viruses including spyware and adware. Then and only then, will a PC be reloaded with the appropriate operating system and refurbished ready for sale.

Warranty

CPR Offer a 3-month warranty with all Desktop Computers and Laptops over £250 and sold as refurbished. The first 30 days is a full parts and labour service with the remaining time being labour only. This is a back-to-base service with the cost of returning an item being the customer's responsibility. Once a machine has been refurbished by us, it goes through rigorous testing to ensure that there are no hidden problems. As such, we are 100% confident that the Computers we sell are of excellent quality and reliability and all work perfectly when dispatched.
